We are seeking to appoint (one full time and one half time) Environmental Technology Facilitators to work between the Chinese Academy of Science (Institute of the Urban Environment, for more information about our institute please visit www.iue.ac.cn)  and the University of Aberdeen. The post requires self drive and enthusiasm as well as a technical focus in understanding how to bring solutions to end-users. Much of the initial technologies that we intend to transfer relate to the assessment and remediation of contaminated waters and soils but over time we anticipate that wider environmental aspects will be included. The successful candidate will hold a postgraduate qualification in an environmental related discipline and will have experience in networking with industry, government and academics. The candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills both in English and in Chinese.

In the first instance this post is for a one year appointment, but after a probationary period we anticipate at least a three year contract. As the relationship between partners develops we envisage that the post will require personnel management skills to deal with a growing team of skilled staff.
Depending on the ability and experience of the candidate, annual salary will be between 120-150K RMB, with some additional benefits for accommodation and social security.
